I love hot sauces, and fridge cleanouts, and experimenting – welcome my Cranberry-Pineapple-Jalapeno Hot Sauce! I love the ease and simplicity of it – a one-pot situation, that doesn’t require much, and could be made with any fruits.

Ingredients

½ cup water
½ cup white sugar, plus more
2 large jalapenos, sliced
1 cup pineapple chunks
1.5 cups washed cranberries
Pinch of salt
1 cup white vinegar, plus more

Method

  • Make syrup by combining water and sugar. Stir and allow sugar dissolve
  • Add jalapenos, and allow cook a touch, infusing the syrup with their flavor
  • Then follow with fruit, and a pinch of salt
  • Cook until soft
  • Add vinegar, cook some more
  • Remove and cool
  • Blend
  • Reheat, adjust flavors with more sugar and vinegar
  • Bottle or jar
  • Allow cool, then refrigerate
  • Enjoy as you desire – I love it with roasts, and cheese
